On October 1st (Tuesday), U.S. Congressman Jimmy Panetta visited the emerging hi-tech  company Agape-1 Technology in Silicon Valley, and expressed his commitment to supporting  the growth of hi-tech startups in the region through legislative measures such as tariff and tax policy  adjustments, talent development initiatives, and simplifying IPO procedures.

Jimmy Panetta, a Democratic Congressman representing California’s 19th District, is the son  of former U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta. His district covers the southern part of  San Jose, the hills of Santa Cruz County, and extends along the Monterey County coastline  to northern San Luis Obispo County. Since being elected in 2016, Panetta has served four  terms in Congress.

During the visit, the company’s CEO Dr. David Fong introduced the company’s development  journey and provided a detailed explanation of the latest updates to their fourth-generation  technology, including applications of robots in agriculture, and advancements in drone  technology, combat mechanical arms, and metal shields. Following this, Congressman  Panetta, accompanied by CEO Dr. David Fong, CTO Howard Ho PhD and Board Chairperson  Rosemary Wang, toured the company and observed a demonstration of the intelligent  autonomous patrol robot.

During the demonstration, the company’s engineers showcased the robot’s AI-based  advanced visual recognition and intelligent language features, including its ability to converse  with humans and accurately describe objects in its surroundings. Additionally, they  demonstrated how the robot could detect when a person is armed, identify the threat, and  issue warnings.

Panetta praised the innovative technology of Agape-1 Technology, expressing admiration for  the company’s use of cutting-edge technology to improve public safety in San Jose. He  remarked that this is exactly the kind of manufacturing development that the U.S., particularly  Northern California, urgently needs. He thanked the company’s team for their hard work and  looked forward to further development and application of their technology in the future.

Panetta also stated that to support American tech companies, Congress should not only  impose tariffs but also provide tax incentives for high-tech industries, such as research and  development, semiconductors, and domestic manufacturing. He emphasized that the  combination of tariffs and domestic tax incentives would more effectively promote the return  of U.S. manufacturing and help America gain an edge in the fierce competition with China. He also addressed the talent issue needed for high-tech development, advocating for  expanding the H2B visa quota to ensure the influx of highly skilled labor. At the same time, he  emphasized the importance of vocational education in the U.S., especially university  education targeted toward manufacturing industries.

Additionally, Panetta mentioned that he would consider the company’s suggestion to simplify  the listing process for AI companies and expressed hope that Agape-1 would successfully list  on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange in the future.

On the same day, Verizon visited Agape-1 Technology to explore potential collaboration opportunities.  Recognizing the cutting-edge nature of Agape-1’s robotics, Verizon expressed interest in providing wireless technology support, including precise GPS provisioning services, further bolstering the future of security technology fueled by AI and robotics.

Agape-1 Technology, a technology startup founded and led by Silicon Valley entrappers, has developed a smart autonomous patrol robot with artificial intelligence as its core technology in response to the increasing public security problems of robberies and homelessness. The company held a press conference at the company’s headquarters in San Jose, California, showcasing its prototype named “A-1 Security Robot”. The security robot will serve as the first line of defense to protect communities, and become a versatile assistant for the police and security guards.

During the demonstration, the A-1 security robot moved freely, easily bypassed obstacles, avoided pedestrians, and was able to correctly describe the people and objects in front of the robot following instructions. When a presenter appeared with a prop gun, the robot’s alarm system was immediately triggered, with lights flashing and sirens blaring.

The A-1 security robot was developed by a team led by CTO, Dr. Howard Ho who graduated from Yale University. The robot includes an electric vehicle platform and a humanoid robot. The electric vehicle has automatic positioning, navigation, obstacle avoidance, target tracking and other functions. The electric vehicle platform is equipped with sensors such as LiDAR, range sensors, cameras, and microphones to collect various data from its surroundings, as well as warning lights, sirens, speakers and other devices for giving warnings and alerts to deter crime.

The core technology of Agape-1 Technology is its Crime Detection System (CDS) developed based on AI and Multi-Modal Large Language Models. Through the surrounding environment, vehicle and pedestrian information collected by its sensors, the system can determine whether there are any abnormal conditions and then notify the control center. If a suspicious person appears, the system can give a voice warning or conduct inquiries. The system can also detect suspicious weapons to reduce crime.

Dr. Howard Ho said, using the latest AI technology of Multi-Modal Large Language Modes, combining image recognition and other AI technologies, the A-1 Security Robot can carry out autonomous patrols to prevent crime. “We are riding the wave of the latest technologies and continue to lead the cutting-edge innovation and applications of AI for the development of our robots. We have applied for four (4) landmark patents with the U.S. Patent Office to protect our unique inventions,” he said.

CEO Dr. David Fong said: “The company has a strong R&D team, including seven experienced PhDs in science and technology, leading our young engineers in exploring AI security’s new horizons. The company has seasoned corporate and marketing executives who are building the company on solid ground. We are also discussing collaborations in supply chain and high-performance edge processors with other technology companies, and we plan to cooperate with established Taiwanese manufacturing facilities in Mexico for assembly and testing of our robots. This large-scale patrol robot can be used for patrolling in shopping malls, parking lots, university campuses, airports, ports, etc. It solves the security guards’ problems of fatigue, monotony, and late-night shifts. It will be a “loyal partner” of the police and law enforcement. Moreover, the robot’s non-emotional responses under threats with logic and organized dialogue can play a critical role in cooling down the crowd from out-of-control. The system will also be equipped with a robotic arm that can eject water to the crowd to further its goals of deterring crime and protecting business properties.
